Days like this

With little miss almost-three by my side {and listening for the sounds of birds}, we walked.

The brightest blue sky danced above us.

My baby girl sat in the pram, big eyes wide and alert {taking in the day}.

A cool breeze caught us off guard {sweeping past our faces and through our hair}.

Little miss two giggled and demanded we stop walking {so we "really hear the birds"}.

The sun was the brightest it has been in days. {Warming our skin, touching my soul}.

I watched her big brown eyes search for blossom. And clouds {not a single one in sight}.

We laughed into the sun. And we walked.

I smiled at the two little smiles that light up my days.

And I wished he was here with us. Witnessing this very moment. {And I wondered if they wished this too}.

And I knew if I as the one working full-time, this is what I would miss.

Days when we {the three of us} make memories.

Days like this {when I catch myself living my dreams}.

{Grateful for this day, for these moments, for the sun and bright blue skies, for my man who comes home every night with a smile on his face and energy for his three girls. Forever grateful that thanks to him, days like this can be mine. And a little embarrassed that it's only just dawning on me how amazing a gift this really is xx}

  1. So beautiful.
Sometimes we lose sight of the gift that staying at home is.
    Thank you for the reminder.
    :-) xx

  2. Sounds like a gorgeous weekend for you Elisa and yes a good man is definitely worth bottling. x

  3. You know I often think the same way, on really gorgeous, perfect days... I feel sorry for hubby that he misses out on a lot of those times. Though I guess there is always a trade off and we are on deck 24/7. We kind of deserve those special moments. You've captured it beautifully here Elisa xo

  4. I wish I had days like that... and a man who'd come home and play with my daughter and me. You are truly blessed... even more blessed because you realize how blessed you are ;)

  5. What a wonderful man you have! Sunshine how can you ever be down on a sunny day! Thankyou for my comment sounds like you had a great day!

    Steph :)

  6. You are so right Elisa. We are so lucky to be able to be at home with our children full time. It is such a gift. There are hard days, sure, and hard nights too, but the good and wonderful definitely outweigh the not so good. It is great you are taking the time to pause and savour these moments. I too wish my husband could be here full time with us. xxoo

  7. Beautiful words Elisa :) I wish my Hubby didn't have to work, and could be with us during the day not missing what his little girls get up to. It's such a gorgeous age, and flies by way too quickly.

  8. what a dreamy day...and those cherry blossoms are so lovely

  9. "Days when we {the three of us} make memories." So beautiful, and so true.

Thanks for the poignant reminder, Elisa.
